Samarkand the Frontier and Moghul Restaurant gets its name from a majestic and beautiful city of Central Asia renowned for its aesthetic prowess.

Oft-regarded as “Rome of the East” and “Pearl of the Eastern Muslim World” by poets and historians alike, Samarkand as a city boasts a rich history 2,500 years in the making. It is the one of the oldest cultural centers of the world.

Having survived the invasions of Alexander the Great, Ghengiz Khan and Tamur the Great, Samarkand has inadvertently absorbed much of the culinary skill of China, India and Mongolia.

Here at Samarkand we want to recreate the incredible gastronomical experience of Tandoor and Dumpukht cooking. We bring about an authentic Frontier taste with our blend of exotic herbs, aromatic spices and a little bit of history.
